Positive COTF Weekend for Birelart Drivers, Ready for the FIA Karting European Championship

The weekend at the German circuit of Mülsen ended on a positive note for the Birelart drivers, who are now ready for the third round of the FIA Karting European Championship.

OKJ – Legenkyi Close to the Top Five
A positive debut at Mülsen for the OK Junior drivers, especially for Oleksandr Legenkyi (CL Racing Team). From the free practice sessions, he showed good speed, which was confirmed in qualifying where he finished inside the top ten. In the five heats, Legenkyi made no mistakes and consistently gained positions, always finishing inside the top ten. His best results included a fourth and a fifth place. His strong performance continued in the Super Heat, where he fought for victory for a long time before finishing fourth again. He ended the weekend with seventh place in a chaotic final, still achieving another positive result. The weekend was more difficult for Morales. He showed good competitiveness, with strong recoveries into the top ten in the last two heats, but a few setbacks in the other races prevented him from showing his full potential. Good progress was also shown by Rea, who qualified inside the top eight and raced aggressively throughout the heats. Positive signs and good recoveries also came from J. Angelard during a COTF round that was difficult.

OK – Mazzola and Sala make strong comebacks
Ludovico Mazzola and Filippo Sala finished the COTF weekend in the Senior class with impressive recoveries. Sala remained competitive throughout the weekend despite a difficult qualifying session. The CL Racing Team driver was forced to fight back through the field, gaining positions consistently and setting the fastest lap of the race. Starting far back in the final made the race challenging, but he still managed to finish inside the top ten after gaining fifteen positions. Mazzola had a similar weekend. He was stronger in qualifying than his teammate but suffered from some unlucky heats. In the final, he drove without mistakes and crossed the finish line after recovering sixteen positions. Ivannikov and Sharp collected positive heat results inside the top five and top ten, showing strong pace. Both drivers were competitive in the final as well but were forced to retire. Even so, they leave the weekend with positive feelings ahead of the European Championship.

The Birelart Racing Team will remain in Germany for the third round of the FIA Karting European Championship for the OK and OKJ classes, taking place this weekend from June 12 to 14.
