Sala and Ivannikov stand out in Valencia during the COTF weekend
The Birelart Racing Team returned to the track last weekend for the second round of the Champions Of The Future in Valencia.
OK Senior – Sala and Ivannikov front runners
The changeable weather made for another challenging weekend. In qualifying, Sala, Ivannikov, and Mazzola all finished in the top ten of their sessions, beforeracing in five heats on both dry and wet track conditions. Sala showed strong progress, staying among the front runners and finishing all heats between thirdand fourth place. Ivannikov also improved, especially in the last two heats, wherehe took a third place and a P1, gaining nine positions.
Mazzola also showed good speed, fighting back toward the top five. Rousseau set a fastest lap, while Da Silva gained thirteen positions in the final heat.
In the final, Birelart drivers were consistent, even though early race battlesslowed them down. Sala finished ninth and Ivannikov eleventh, gaining anothernine positions. Both have room to improve ahead of the FIA Karting EuropeanChampionship.
OK Junior – Legenkyi always fighting back
A problem in qualifying made the start of the weekend difficult for Legenkyi (CL Racing Team), but he later became the main protagonist in the heats. With no mistakes and avoiding trouble, the Ukrainian driver recovered a total of 51 positions across all heats. His speed was strong in all conditions.
Morales also had a positive result in his home race weekend, with a good qualifying and strong heats in the top ten. Important weekend for Julia Angelard, for gaining experience in her first race at the Valencia track; shegained ten positions in the fourth heat.
Birelart will return to the Lucas Guerrero Karting Circuit in Valencia in a fewdays for the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship (May 8–10).
